Mumbai, Sunday, May 30, 2010 : India is growing in population at a rapid phase and to equal it there is also increase in diseases rate. It is becoming quite hard to manage things with the fewer doctors available across India and also only few amounts of seats are there in the colleges as well. On taking in to account all of these the Indian Government has approved an extra 3,700 MBBS seats in government medical colleges this year.
There are 37 government medical colleges in India in which there will be an additional intake of 100 per college leading to the count 3,700. All these announcements came from the Indian Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and he also added that the colleges will receive finds from Government to increase the facilities.
The Medical Council of India (MCI) said that there are 100 Private medical colleges getting ready for the MBBS course. However there is no note about the time period of this getting in to act but if this starts the operation then there will be extra 10,000 seats i.e. 100 seats per college.
